Following the release of a report by the human rights organization Safeguard Defenders in September 2022, probes were launched by several countries into the activities of the “overseas police stations” established by China worldwide. These investigations uncovered that the Chinese government had been utilizing these stations to conduct surveillance on its citizens residing in foreign countries, including Europe and the US. Additionally, dissidents were subjected to threats, intimidation, and coercion to force their return to China.

  • We cannot allow another country to pretend they have jurisdiction in North America, that’s beyond unacceptable. These enforcers absolutely need to be arrested and deported.

China won’t do shit. They are just as dependent on the US/Canada, if not moreso at this point. If we allow this to continue we are essentially surrendering our sovereignty to them, while allowing them to harass and threaten our taxpayers. That is pure cowardice.

    • Ah, but they don’t claim “jurisdiction” on foreign soil, they only use blackmail so you behave in a certain way if you don’t want them to apply their jurisdiction “back in China” (onto your friends, family, or yourself if you ever go back).

The problem is decades of outsourcing and globalization that have left countries dependant on not fully friendly ones with different sets of values.

China… (don’t mind they do the same stuff in GB/EU/Africa/Australia too)… but they might be less dependent on the US/Canada than the other way around. Right now they’re pushing a “Made in China 2025” program, to become less dependant on others, and everyone else better do something similar.
