In refusing to acknowledge his past climate denial and promotion of oil interests, Obama is relying on liberals forgetting his actual environmental record. Worse, he’s telling other Democratic leaders that lip service can stand in for action.
I don’t think anyone in a Socialism group thinks Obama is the answer, just a step towards the answer. Biden is a rebound from disaster in the same way. Hopefully the next democrat will be at least on Bernie’s level, but I’m sure the US will just pick another centerist.
That will be the case until the boomers are adequately bellcurved. Local and downballot elections are a more important and fruitful endeavor anyways despite the fact that people just really don’t want to pay attention to them for whatever reason.
