minus-square Midnitte ( @Midnitte@kbin.social ) linkfedilink1•1 year agoThe LHC does have a team competition with them, but you might be right about the specialization. That said, a rival team at Europe’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are hoping to get there first.
I don’t believe these kind of tests are done at CERN. I could be wrong but I think FermiLab specializes in some kind of muon study.
Either way, I imagine it just takes a really long time to gather data.
