When you ask others to refer to you in a different way than the mainstream, as with a different name or neopronouns, you are basically asking others to jump through a series of hoops to win the right to engage with you. It's part of setting boundaries and there's nothing wrong with it per se. However it becomes a problem when you expect others to navigate growing amounts of complexity, like neopronouns, or frequently changing pronouns. More so when you expect it from non-native speakers, as will be many of the people you're engaging with online.
Either people will just get it wrong, or (as is often my case these days because I don't want to get it wrong but I'm tired, old and grumpy) they will stop communicating. I've had a situation the other day where I got scolded because in my comment I apparently omitted the existence of people who are plural. It wasn't even misgendering someone directly. I wasn't being rude or trying to be hurtful. The discussion wasn't related to gender, I was just talking about a normal topic in my normal words, which most people find inoffensive most of the time. My reaction to this is that I don't want to engage with that person anymore. I don't want to offend them, but if communication is already a chore for me on a good day, communicating with people who are just waiting for me to make a mistake to be offended is too much work, honestly.
Communication is a two-way street. On the one hand we should be able to expect that others are courteous and polite - but to expect them to use exactly the right words all the time (no matter if pronouns, grammar or terminology) we are bound to be disappointed. So if we really want to communicate we should make it a little easy for the other person, to extend some grace. There *are* biological differences to take into account, the most obvious being whether a person is capable of becoming pregnant. There are certain warnings and considerations that the pharmacy may be required to inform someone of *if they are physically capable* of becoming pregnant. Might be corporate policy, might be because of state laws (especially if you're in a slave state). Demographic information can be used to ensure that different groups of people are treated fairly.
Companies take actions that they think will maximize profit. Yes, they will trample all over anyone in that process, but it will be *for profit,* and not for anything else - malice included - in the absence of maximizing profit.
