Recently moved here, really struggling with my ADHD and want to see a legit psychiatrist to find the best course of action for me.

If they happen to accept Aetna, great, otherwise I’m willing to pay a decent amount out of pocket to get out of this ADHD depression rut I’m in.

Sorry, I don’t have a recommendation that directly answers your question.

Personally, I have been very happy with Kaiser since I switched to them about 10 years ago. They are an HMO, so I don’t think they are available without them being your insurer.

It has been a much better experience for me than the variety of PPO (or whatever things like Aetna are called these days) providers I had before them. Their psychiatry department has been pretty good, although slow to get a psych assigned after mine retired. I gather that finding an available psychiatrist is pretty tough anywhere out there in healthcare, though.

Not to say they are perfect. It’s still US healthcare, but I’ve found it to be better than anything else I’ve had.

    No, I’m not a shill :p

    • I appreciate your response, helpful information. Over on the /r/ place, I saw lots of people raving about Kaiser. Unfortunately I am with Aetna rn, but I did find the suggestion of Pivot Behavioral Health and have scheduled an appointment with them. Was east to do online and got an appointment just 3 weeks out. We’ll see how it goes, but I’m optimistic
