CJOtheReal ( @CJOtheReal@ani.social ) 15•6 months agoSeems cool, sadly from a Chinese company and therefore Spyware incarnate.
fckgwrhqq2yxrkt ( @fckgwrhqq2yxrkt@beehaw.org ) 25•6 months agoYea, good thing none of our domestic phones spy on us.
Kidplayer_666 ( @Kidplayer_666@lemm.ee ) 10•6 months agoI mean, it’s often easier to install a custom ROM on those to get rid of spyware
LordAmplifier ( @LordAmplifier@pawb.social ) English8•6 months agoCustom ROMs are the best, I love that they exist and wouldn’t want to live in a world without them any more. When I needed to buy a new phone two years ago, I had no idea which one I should get, but then I learnt about custom ROMs, got a Pixel, and installed CalyxOS on it, and I haven’t regretted it for even one second.
CJOtheReal ( @CJOtheReal@ani.social ) 4•6 months agoRather have my own government/usa spy on me than a red plague country with a dictatorship…
SinAdjetivos ( @SinAdjetivos@beehaw.org ) 13•6 months agoYou might reconsider based on which one has more ability/incentive to affect you
CJOtheReal ( @CJOtheReal@ani.social ) 1•6 months agoWell my own government doesn’t bombard me with commie propaganda and since i kinda work for it they already know what they need, its just that they don’t care.
SinAdjetivos ( @SinAdjetivos@beehaw.org ) 6•6 months ago CJOtheReal ( @CJOtheReal@ani.social ) 1•6 months agoI said commie propaganda. I already love my own country… So there is bo need for propaganda. And since my country is in Nato and not Turkey or Hungary i don’t need to worry about USA either.
I do however have a problem with commie China propaganda and Spyware. Fuck that.
SinAdjetivos ( @SinAdjetivos@beehaw.org ) 5•6 months ago-
Propoganda is just as much about convincing you who/what the enemies are as it is about instilling nationalism.
-
Your repeated use of the word “commie” tells me you’re deeply steeped in a specific kind of American propoganda. Do you want help getting back to reality or are you happy where you’re at?

simp4ravens ( @simp4ravens@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) 3•6 months agoYou are on 196, this is the commie propaganda what are you talking about
Mossy Feathers (They/Them) ( @MossyFeathers@pawb.social ) 7•6 months agoYeah, it’s not very expensive either. Legit wondering if it could be flashed with a custom rom to get rid of the spyware because it actually kinda seems cool.
CJOtheReal ( @CJOtheReal@ani.social ) 7•6 months agoThe Spyware is like a virus, you’d probably have to replace the entire ROM and RAM to get rid of it.
Winnie Puh doesn’t like people removing his ears and eyes…
EddoWagt ( @EddoWagt@feddit.nl ) 8•6 months agoyou’d probably have to replace the entire ROM and RAM to get rid of it.
That’s not how ram works…
CJOtheReal ( @CJOtheReal@ani.social ) 2•6 months agoIt shouldn’t, but there are rams that don’t get wiped completely without power, making it perfect for viruses to be installed over and over again.
I forgot the bios btw… Also a great place to store viruses.
EddoWagt ( @EddoWagt@feddit.nl ) 1•6 months agoReally? Didn’t know that was a thing.
But I feel that it would be much easier to just make sure the standard software can’t get replaced, rather than infecting everything with malware
CJOtheReal ( @CJOtheReal@ani.social ) 2•6 months agoYeah had a computer virus that effected the Bios and the ram, had to manually clean the entire thing like three times to get it out.
Pretty nasty stuff, and when its put in from the start they can just add a storage that cant wiped, wich gets booted together with the bios, its even possible to hardwire a virus in a system, actually its hilariously easy to do so if you know how.

Phones that if thrown at someone, they break their skull, instead of shattering into dust
qyron ( @qyron@sopuli.xyz ) 9•6 months agoExplore this brand a bit, then.
I specifically bought one 4 years ago to have something that could withstand existing in an industrial environment (dust, oil, hard surfaces) and for €150 it still lasts today.
Parts are easy to find as well.
qyron ( @qyron@sopuli.xyz ) 8•6 months agoI’ve been using this brand for some time now and the phones are well made. The option to go strong into the rugged segment payed off. But this is way over the top.
