The fresh new series of Linux kernel - 6.7.x series was released today. This is one of the largest releases with more than 17,000 non-merge commits and 1000 merges. It also comes with some enticing new features:
- The brand new bcachefs file system. Do check this out if you’re a fan of btrfs.
- BPF exceptions mechanism
- Futex support in io_uring
- TCP authentication option
- Initial version of the futex2 API
- Kernel samepage merging smart scan mode
- Networking support for the Landlock security module
- Removal of support for the Itanium architecture
- Lots of others!
