• Sega arguably did lose eventually though, with the same strategy that helped them win the early parts. They pushed for bleeding edge hardware at a time when returns on hardware were a lot lower and the market didn’t really know what to do with it and ultimately had to shutter their hardware production. It’s a shame too because the Dreamcast did look pretty good for the time and was the first console with online play long before Xbox brought LAN to the living room.

  • Anybody who doesn’t think the Confederacy had a lasting impact that we are still feeling today isn’t paying attention. I get that it’s a meme but don’t ignore reality for the sake of a joke.

The end of the Civil War resulted in multiple Confederate politicians keeping their jobs and setting post war policy as well as being involved in the drafting of the amendments to the Constitution that set ex-slaves conditions of freedom.

The civil rights movement was largely necessary because Confederate states were allowed to push for policies that set ex-slaves up for failure from the get go.

I also won’t call the Confederacy truly dead until I stop seeing assholes waving over of their flags around.
