I suppose it’s inevitable, but the amount of ridiculous propaganda being posted here by a small by a number of people is making this community both less useful and less pleasant. Bizarre conspiracy theories and hatred are not news.

Welcome to lemmy.ml. Maybe you should stick with instances that credulously post imperial core corporate media schlock.
Says the person who came over with the reddit migration and provides no supporting context whatsoever. But sure, whatever you say bud! I guess funding a proxy war which has claimed more than 10,000 Ukrainian lives already is the only way out of the proxy war, ah?

I generally agree with the content of the article, but the headline destroys its credibility. No one who might possibly have their mind changed is going to go anywhere near it.
I will admit to over-reacting. I’m just sick of watching people with something important to say undermine themselves by adopting the emotionally exploitive rhetoric of the other side.
- davel [he/him] ( @davel@lemmy.ml ) English9•8 months ago
Not themselves: journalists seldom get to choose the headline. It’s usually left to the copy editor.

I knew that was true of new articles, but did not realize it also happened with opinion pieces like this one. Thank you for the information.

Even well-informed, intellectually honest liberals like Jeffrey Sachs are a bridge too far for most of the labor aristocracy in the imperial core.

What a complete asshole and a shit article
Ever thought about posting anything before being critical of other post?
- quindraco ( @quindraco@lemm.ee ) 8•8 months ago
Ever thought about posting actual news articles to news subs? It’s deeply disingenuous to shitpost in the sub and then respond to your critics that they need to post more. No posts is better than more shitposts.
This is news, had you heard of a deal being reached in this matter before seeing this post? In addition, I post non-corporate actual information with regularity, while the individual at the origin of this conversation has never made a single post. Don’t you think that being so critical of posts without ever bringing anything to the table is a bit misdirected?

The fact that I haven’t posted shitty asshole fascist Russian propaganda is actually something I’m proud of

Maybe !world@lemmy.world is more your speed, where they use Media Bias/Fact Check and other such nonsense that keeps them in the Atlanticist corporate news bubble.

I would argue that is actually Russia that’s killing Ukrainians by, y’know, invading their country and bombing them and such. And that anyone telling the Ukrainians not to fight back is essentially telling them to ‘just lie back and enjoy it’.
Hey, remember back in 2014 when the US ran the Ukrainian Coup and took over the country? This is when the US partnered with the Ukrainian far-right to overthrow a Ukrainian president who was trying to work with Russia and installed their own government? Do think that is maybe the driving force behind the whole situation? Or are you someone who uses selective memory to justify the news they want to believe is true?
