PaddleMaster ( @PaddleMaster@beehaw.org ) 1•5 months agoMy ex was stationed here many years ago. He spoke fondly of all the Filipino workers that lived on the island. He never mentioned asylum seekers. So either it was long before they aren’t or they are not near the military base. The island is not big though. I would imagine any reports of a sailor messing with civilians would not be well received by the navy.
