However, when she contacted the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) the bemused call handler told her: “On the computer you’re dead”.
"I said, ‘I’m not, I’m still talking to you’.

Mistakes happen, although perhaps the system could be redesigned. It’s likely a fault of a UI, I doubt it was malicious or entirely incompetent.

TWeaK ( @Tweak@feddit.uk ) English5•2 months agoNHS England said they were aware of an issue involving an incorrect death registration which was rectified by the patient’s GP but they do not notify the DWP of a death.
Let me guess, NHS England uses a version of Horizon, and DWP have special secret backdoor access into health records…
