Bonehead ( @Bonehead@kbin.social ) 30•2 months agoYeah that’s cool and all. But now build that into the front of this, and I’ll really be impressed.
NaN ( @Bitrot@lemmy.sdf.org ) English5•2 months agoWow there’s some memories I didn’t know I still had.
Ech ( @ech@lemm.ee ) English26•2 months agoWhen I was younger, palmpilots and blackberrys were the coolest things to me. Something that was basically a computer you could carry in your pocket? I wanted one so bad! And now basically everyone has something even better. Funny how things change.
Longpork3 ( @Longpork3@lemmy.nz ) 6•2 months agoI would argue that the modern smartphone is different, but by no means better. Between the locked down operating systems and the lack of a physical keyboard they are great for consuming media through approved channels, but basically useless if you want to get any work done with them.
HouseWolf ( @HouseWolf@lemm.ee ) English4•2 months agoI only recently found out Blackberry still make phones and they still have the physical keyboard! One of my coworkers has one and I did a double take when I first seen it.
DavidGarcia ( @DavidGarcia@feddit.nl ) 17•2 months agoBlackberryPi Flipper Zero with LoRa and a thermal camera (because why not) would be cool
XNX ( @xnx@slrpnk.net ) 8•2 months agoThe lillygo t deck is a blackberry style device with lora https://www.lilygo.cc/products/t-deck
suoko ( @Suoko@feddit.it ) 1•2 months agoThat looks great for hiking and scout boys
Shareni ( @Shareni@programming.dev ) 1•2 months agoAren’t all ESPs used in lillygo devices universally bad as portables. I’ve read that her watches last only a couple of hours with minimal use.
NaN ( @Bitrot@lemmy.sdf.org ) English6•2 months agoBut can it create that old GSM speaker buzz like my Blackberry did?
blindsight ( @blindsight@beehaw.org ) 1•2 months agoJFC. Stand-up meetings with people dialed in to the speakerphone. Buzz-screech all meeting every meeting.
Dreyns ( @Dreyns@lemmy.ml ) 6•2 months agoOk now find a job in a suspicious facility, write all your whereabouts inside that thing, die gruesomely, and make sure this thing is visible on you, bonus point if you manage to get some blood on the screen !
MonkderDritte ( @MonkderDritte@feddit.de ) 5•2 months agoYou don’t sand your 3d prints?
Nilz ( @Nilz@sopuli.xyz ) 22•2 months agoYou sand your 3D prints?
MonkderDritte ( @MonkderDritte@feddit.de ) 1•2 months agoI’m still planning to do some projects with it. But other projects always come in the way.
So it’s not common to make the lines away, at least on surfaces?
edit: ok, that still seems to be a prototype.
acockworkorange ( @acockworkorange@mander.xyz ) 17•2 months agoThose are grip enhancement surface features.
MonkderDritte ( @MonkderDritte@feddit.de ) 2•2 months agoNo, around the keyboard.
Gormadt ( @Gormadt@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) 9•2 months agoYou mean the small gaps in the filament?
Those won’t go away with sanding unless you go really deep
And personally for a prototype sanding is a waste of time. Get something working as you expect, then roughly design a case, iterate the case, finalize the case design, then finally worry about surface finish.
mihnt ( @mihnt@lemmy.ca ) 3•2 months agoWhat the other person said. This is a prototype and looks to be printed with thicker layers than normal (.2mm is the usual.) to save time.
MonkderDritte ( @MonkderDritte@feddit.de ) 2•2 months agoBlackberrypy 3: full size touchscreen with a flip keyboard, right?
