unexposedhazard ( @unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de ) 10•2 months agoI dont like mini trams, they only have a reason to exist in low density walled garden rich communities. There will never be a use for small public transport vehicles like this in big cities.
Mongostein ( @Mongostein@lemmy.ca ) 6•2 months agoThey could be useful in small loops around shopping centres, hospitals, and theme parks, with a station that connects to the trains that get you out of the area.
Sas [she/her] ( @Sas@beehaw.org ) 2•2 months agoLooking at my work commute, during the rush hour times the bigger tram is filled to the brim but outside of those times the tram going that route is still the same size but almost empty. I’d say it makes sense to reduce size for those trips instead of reducing the number of trips
unexposedhazard ( @unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de ) 1•2 months agoyeah but thats what you have segmentable trams for. you can just hook up more or less tram cars depending on your current needs.
