Vodulas [they/them] ( @Vodulas@beehaw.org ) 26•9 months agoWhat’s a jerk sock? Also, if you get use out of it, you arguably did not ruin it.
winkerjadams ( @winkerjadams@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) English4•9 months agoA sock that you cum into…
Vodulas [they/them] ( @Vodulas@beehaw.org ) 6•9 months agoThe one in the picture is a nylon stocking, so that would be a poor choice…
winkerjadams ( @winkerjadams@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) English1•9 months agoAs is putting it on a vacuum. I was answering the question though
Vodulas [they/them] ( @Vodulas@beehaw.org ) 3•9 months agoI wasn’t trying to denigrate your comment. Just pointing out the use of “jerk sock” by OP was an odd choice
blackluster117 ( @blackluster117@possumpat.io ) 23•9 months agoI actually really like the plastic bag and bottle trick.
RuBisCO ( @Rubisco@slrpnk.net ) 9•9 months agoIt’s a lot of plastic. What if a canning jar was used instead? Then we just have to convince Packaging to switch to waxed paper bags or something.
Vodulas [they/them] ( @Vodulas@beehaw.org ) 35•9 months agoIt looks to be reusing a bread bag and an empty bottle, so those would have been trash. Reuse/repurposing is better than just throwing away.
lennivelkant ( @lennivelkant@discuss.tchncs.de ) 16•9 months agoReduce
Reuse <- You are here
RecycleNot using it at all would be better, sure, but if you don’t have that option for whatever reason, reusing it is the next best thing. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.
Vodulas [they/them] ( @Vodulas@beehaw.org ) 4•9 months agoI think you may have meant to respond to the other person since this is pretty much what I said
lennivelkant ( @lennivelkant@discuss.tchncs.de ) 10•9 months agoI was supporting your point. I forget that comments are seen as counterargument by default.
But you’re right, my comment would have been more useful in reply to the other person.
Vodulas [they/them] ( @Vodulas@beehaw.org ) 2•9 months agoAh got ya. Since you were responding to my comment it seemed like you meant that I was letting perfect be the enemy of good.
lennivelkant ( @lennivelkant@discuss.tchncs.de ) 3•9 months agoMe no word good 😄
Nah, you’ve got a point, my brain is just fried these days. I definitely need a vacation.
Obi ( @Obi@sopuli.xyz ) 1•9 months agoYou raise a great point about comments being seen as a counter by default. And if you try to give a disclaimer in your comment (like saying you agree) you still get downvoted for some reason. I’m very cautious about participating in any serious topics because of this, jokes, one-liners and sharing (unimportant) personal experiences are pretty much the only safe comments.
t3rmit3 ( @t3rmit3@beehaw.org ) 3•9 months agoCome on over to Beehaw, where we don’t have downvotes, then!
It forces people to actually take time and effort to disagree with you, rather than just hitting one button, and somewhat unsurprisingly, that deters a lot of “drive-by” negativity.
mugthol ( @mugthol@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) 14•9 months agoMost of these seem pretty reasonable to me. I guess I don’t get this post.
Axolotling ( @Axolotling@beehaw.org ) 4•9 months agoOp, do you just hate fun? most of these are pretty cute or funny and just because they’re not the most efficient design doesn’t mean they’re not allowed to exist?
