Never done one of these before but I hope this is helpful.
Image description: [The streetside corner of an apartment building is pictured with red linework graffiti of a smiling, three eyed, horned dog demon with monstrous teeth and its tongue lolling out. Next to the animal is the capitalised writing “graffiti keeps rent low fuck shit up” and a heart symbol.]
Okay, I added it to the body of the post. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks! In some Apps and some web UIs you can add alt text directly to the image, which can be federated to other fediverse Apps such as Mastodon
I checked, and my app does not. I can update when get on my PC.

There is a shit load of graffiti in Berlin, but it doesn’t stop prices going sky high.

Maybe the city selling 200,000 flats was a mistake. Especially with massive population growth.

I think the point is that gentrified areas are prim and proper and tagging pushes back on the gentrified aesthetic.
There’s also the phenomenon of guerrilla gardening beautifying a neighbourhood, which can cause developers to take note of it as a “desireable area” and bring luxury development. Tagging has the opposite effect.
I don’t know enough about Berlin to comment there, but it can be true that city can still have a high average rent, at the same time as tagging a building and the surrounding area can decrease rent by deterring rich people.

Same about Prague. Prices are not much lower than in Berlin with salaries 2 times lower…
