Rare traditional religion W on the part of Protestants
It’s weird how much of Twilight overlays with Mormon lore. The vampires Stephanie writes are basically angels, with the “bad” vampires being the ones who fell.
I never knew. Thanks for pointing out, Imma do some research about it
I think I saw some creator on TikTok speak on it, this explores some of the themes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOs2YM3PAc0 - OH EW WTF I JUST SAW A COMMENT ON A DIFFERENT YOUTUBE VIDEO: “The fact that she based Bella off of herself to a dot really makes the fact that her brothers name is Jacob so much weirder.”
I sure love the absolute classic Vischer and Nawrocki made by Veggie Tales
What’s funny is that Veggie Tales really is the most famous protestant art, and yet there was a not insignificant number of protestant evangelicals who hated it for being too entertaining (“worldly”), for not fearmongering Hellfire, and for focusing on the Old Testament. The creators did so partly because they were uneasy about the sacreligious aspect of veggie Jesus, but also because focusing on Old Testament stories made the show accessible to Jewish and Muslim children. It will surprise nobody to know that many evangelicals despise anything motivated by librul values like “not intentionally excluding”, let alone actual inclusion.
