France is about to pass the worst surveillance law in the EU.
Here’s how you can stop them: 👉 https://tuta.com/blog/france-surveillance-nacrotrafic-law

@Tutanota@mastodon.social And it is not guaranteed that “good guys” are actually good guys at first place in addition to that even if they were, it is impossible to guarantee that they remain as good guys or they will not be replaced with baddies.
@Tutanota@mastodon.social For the very slightly more technical politicians, I put together a proof of concept that shows how easy it is for bad people to build their own E2EE layer on top of a backdoored system.
This kind of law does not make it possible to decrypt messages that bad actors exchange, it only weakens security for everyone else.
@Tutanota@mastodon.social European Court of Human Rights also ruled last year that E2EE is a human right.
… but France is not alone in trying. Swedish authorities are also trying. Despite the Swedish defense department encouraging people to use E2EE.
@Tutanota@mastodon.social I don’t understand why leaders always think it’s good to have a backdoor. They (at least most of them…) won’t be leaders forever, and at that point they will be on the receiving end of non-privacy, mostly by a previous opposition.
So why would they want to implement this at the first place? Do they not even think about themselves?@Tutanota@mastodon.social sadly the thing that happened in the UK with Apple disabling e2e iCloud encryption shows how much people don’t care and I am afraid how this will end. My prediction is that people will realise when it’s too late.
@Tutanota@mastodon.social sucht mal nach “Nacrotrafic” und ersetzt es mit “Narcotrafic” in eurem blog. 😉
@leberschnitzel@existiert.ch Thanks! Will do
