I’m in an awkward position of having enough savings for a downpayment, but being too afraid to enter a 30 year mortgage.
It’s a serious commitment but, if it is going to be your home as opposed to an investment, then it makes sense to do it typically. Obviously I don’t know your situation but it’s my view that paying towards your own home makes better financial sense than renting in the long term.
