minus-square MajesticElevator ( @MajesticElevator@lemmy.zip ) BannedlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·8 months ago if creator Eric Barone cared more about money, I can only imagine that a sequel would be all but guaranteed. I don’t get this. A sequel means more money, as the current owners can now buy a second game

minus-square MajesticElevator ( @MajesticElevator@lemmy.zip ) BannedlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·8 months agoYea I understand from context but the wording seems bad The current one is similar to “if he cared about money, a sequel would not be guaranteed”
minus-square null ( @null@slrpnk.net ) linkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·8 months ago“All but guaranteed” doesn’t mean “not guaranteed”. It means it’s so close to being guaranteed that it may as well be guaranteed – it has everything but the formal guarantee.
