Its time we in Europe stop pretending that the US is capable of being anything other than an enemy. Its not just trump. If they do it once, theyll do it again. Whether its 1, 2, or several administrations down the line. We need to start distancing ourselves from them ASAP

Right on. Trump is just the frontman for now, but the ball will keep on going with the following administrations.

The Democrats will just do what they have always done: “there’s nothing we can do, they have the House and the Senate…”

We can’t rely on internal opposition whatsoever.

This seems rather extreme. Losing trust is one thing, but to call them “an enemy”?

Here’s a quote with equal relevance:

“When did Saruman the Wise abandon reason for madness?”

… And by “equal relevance” I mean not at all.

Seriously though, a corporation cancelled the account of someone who should never have been using it for official business in the first place. More reason to be less reliant on US corporate services and develop open European alternatives. But, terms like “enemy” over this? I thought we were better than that. That’s MAGA level escalation and hatred.

          Let’s rise above this.

How is a country threatening to annex Canada and Greenland not an enemy?

The OP was about an email account being deleted. It said nothing about Greenland.

I’m just trying to quell the hate speech. Hating a whole country because it’s idiot leader says and does stupid things will only lead to bad things.

Using words like “enemy” and other hateful things about various countries and groups was how Trump energised and mislead people to vote for him. By meeting it with more hate we just make it worse. Surely we are better than this? The world has enough hate already without adding to it.

By all means, deride the actions of a madman and his puppet corporations, but to hate an entire country will just make this worse.

We’re not hating the whole country. Just the government and corporations in charge of it.

The cancelling of the email account is not the reason. Its a very small part of the reason. The reason is that the US has for decades been fascist (as I have been saying in other threads, it didn’t turn fascist overnight with the election of one man), imperialist, and generally a bully. As the UK was before it (and still is, apparent from their aid to the genociders), and as all empires have been and will be. It’s always been fascist just been very good at biding it’s time before “going public” with it, while working from the shadows to further its own agenda.

More hate leads to more wars, and we could do with less of those in the world. If you hate them, and brand them your enemy, you push them further away.

Be better than them. Be stronger than them. Educate them and show them how to improve. It’s harder than hating them but ultimately more productive. Hate is easy.

Im not calling for war by any means, just saying theyre not allies. China/Russia arent allies, but that doesnt mean i want war with them. But I also dont want us to align ourselves with fascists, they have nothing good to offer, and it feels disgusting being associated with them in aby way, and hoping to regain our friendship with them.

Europe and America are two peas in a pod, with the only difference between them being that European nations no longer have the military advantage to impose their will as they did in the past.

Netanyahu has dismissed the ICC’s allegations as “absurd,” and Israel’s Knesset is considering legislation that would make providing evidence to the court a crime.

Right, allegations are absurd, so it makes perfect sense to criminalize providing evidence.

Microsoft, for example, cancelled Khan’s email address, forcing the prosecutor to move to Proton Mail, a Swiss email provider, ICC staffers said. His bank accounts in his home country of the U.K. have been blocked.

Microsoft did not respond to a request for comment.

The US will fine and sanction banks that do not comply with its sanctions. So any bank that lets Khan have an account will get slapped basically.
