There’s an entire subset of the population that didn’t want to wash their hands during the pandemic, the bar is much lower than this.

Not true. I gain 1 €, 50 ¢, or at least a nice plastic token.

I put the cart away cause it’s fun to get a running start and then hopping on and riding it across the parking lot

Man it sucks to be huge. I used to love doing that. Especially doing it from the front of the cart and doing some sick drifts.

What you need is some decently sized children to put in the cart to act as a counterweight (kids love that shit too; some of my happiest memories as a kid is being allowed to sit in the cart as my mom was shopping, and having her pile up the groceries on top of me until I’m just a head poking out. If she knew how happy that made me, I reckon she would have done it more often.

I don’t have a car, so if I can’t carry it myself I’m not getting it… There is no cart.

No, because I don’t have a cart. I cycled to the shop and everything we need for the week fits in a basket.

How do you fit everything you need for a week in a bike basket?

Who said anything about a bike basket? Got 2 bags that look somewhat like this, plus a smaller one on top. Then I can also bring a backpack if I really wanted to but never needed that much space. Seen someone stick similar bags on the front of a bike as well, so I guess I could get even more, but I don’t really need it.

I just like to ride the cart through the parkinglot and try to aim the cart into the cart corral and jump off last second. I made it into a game, im sure people look at me funny.

I have a fat backpack that will carry all the groceries I will need for a week. I’ll use the cart to putter about the store, but once all the groceries are in the backpack at the register, I’m walking to the car sans cart.

i prop the wheels up so it doesn’t roll or take up any parking spaces, and leave it out there because i’ve actually worked at places like that and going outside for something is the best part of the shift….
if it’s raining or 80 degrees then i’ll put it in the cart corral….

I’ll do you one further, do you take a cart from the corral on the way in if you know you need a cart?

I don’t usually return it to the front of the store. But no matter where I’m parked in the lot, it never goes to a far-away corral, either the closest corral to the storefront, or better. I try to help out just a little.

ALDI solved this with the carts that take a coin. If someone doesn’t want to return it, and leaves it in the parking lot, someone else will return it to get the coin.

You just need a small bread knife to pop the coin back out.

Who’s going to bring a bread knife with them to Aldi though? Just bring it back or give it to someone on their way in if you’re that lazy (I’ve totally done that more than once).

You don’t have to use a bread knife, just something bread knife like.

Lol, when I got the notification it just shows your name at first and I was like "wait who did I piss off? I only engage in one political argument a day and this one ain’t it.

Now let me ask you what someone would carry normally that would be bread knife like? Maybe a cut down credit card? But for a quarter, I don’t think I could bring myself to do something so petty when I already bring back my cart in stores that don’t have this coin system.
