I think ascribing criticism of a government, and particularly criticism based on an objectively factual history, to “hate” is a cheap, tawdry, anti-intellectual tactic, and anyone who engages in it should be ashamed.
There are quite a few countries with a history of espionage and influence operations in the US. Both of which are completely plausible reasons for what was discovered. It really says more about your biases to point to one without evidence.
