Its a smother of sorts. Pawn controls an important square (d7) . And the rook that was forced to e7 by the knight sac blocks the only other potential escape square.

That’s mate right? I can’t see where the king can move without being eaten (I’m bad at chess I only know the basics)
They can capture your knight with their rook so its not checkmate
