I played Elden Ring and it quickly became my favorite video game. I still watch lore videos on youtube and it’s been more than a year since I played the game. I played Sekiro later and adored it for both the gameplay and lore. I want to get into darksouls, and I’m pretty lore-oriented. Do I need to start from DS1 or can I jump into DS3? Would love any thoughts. Thanks!
That’s a huge reason (among many) to start with 1. It’s always easy to move to games with friendlier controls.
After getting hooked on the Souls franchise, I went back and played the first King’s Field game. It handles like garbage that’s on fire and I couldn’t play more than half an hour.
But if I’d played it first, that wouldn’t have been a problem.
Dark Souls 3 will spoil you for Dark Souls 1’s engine. But Dark Souls 1 is the better game (not to mention the foundation that 3 is built on), so you should play it in the order that’s going to frustrate you less.
