Usually a series evolve and change over time. But if every big jrpg series that is turn based change to action combat, you kinda leave a gap with people that would like to play turn based. A series doesn’t have to be turn based, ys is a perfect example for a action jrpg, but it was always an action jrpg. How about you have your kingdom heart and something else as action and dragon quest as turn based for different kind of target audiences? But having final fantasy, kingdom hearts, mana series, dragon quest all as an action game probably make people mad that are fans from your classical turn based games

I will echo in the other comments ITT. Yes, sure, it doesn’t always REQUIRE turn based game play, but Yagi-san’s company, and the DQ history has set the EXPECTATION that it will be. If you change that I will not buy it. Just like if GTA VI is turned based fans would rage as it doesn’t fit the expectation set. (Personally I would probably play at turn-based GTA).
