It’s bad enough that we now have to deal with both Xorg - which still lingers around like the smell of somebody’s dead grandmother’s decaying corpse - and that turd Wayland that’s still half-backed and less functional than X, but mildly faster sometimes for local graphics, after a staggering 17 years.
If you think anybody is gonna willingly deal with a third stack nobody wanted or asked for, you’re dreaming baby.
It’s like Desktop environments. We only have two of those too.
It’s open source. Someone will. And more power to them
