I haven’t tried it yet in the car but they do have an Android Auto setting. No possibility to put it in the Auto launcher though, weird.
BUT, Wikipedia says you should use the beta version: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Here_WeGo#CarPlay_and_Android_Auto

Thanks for the review. With Here Wego and MapQuest, I’m ready to uninstall Google Maps which was the last Google application on my phone.
Open street map shows it properly, and its a non-profit, open source project.
There are several navigation apps that use OSM data.
