    So… it’s Full Self-Driving, but it’s also Supervised. And it’s Supervised, but it can take over the driver? I’m just so confused with the naming.

    Are there stats on FSD also not scewed cause if there is an accident or an accident is happening it turns of FSD so they can say it wasn’t involved in the crash.

      Disney does something similar: you can’t die in Disneyland.

      They first transport your corpse right outside the bounds of Disneyland, and then declare you deceased. Still unsure what they would do were you to be turned to mist, though. Pressure wash you out the door and then declare your mist deceased?

      Anyway, in a similar fashion, NHTSA / TC should consider the last 30 seconds or more before a crash in their investigation, if they don’t already. The moment of impact tells very little about circumstances that lead to a crash.

    You know, after looking more into it, I don’t think I ever want any car with any driver assist features.

    And not because of this bullshit … but because of all the incessant beeping. Approaching a stop sign, beep. Cross-traffic going by while you’re at the stop sign, beep beep beep. Passed a speed limit sign, even though the speed limit didn’t change? Beep. Driving in a parking lot with pedestrians in the area? Beep beep beep beep. Plugged in your seatbelt? Beep. Unplugged your seatbelt? Beeeep. Turned the car on? Beep boop bee beep. Turned the car off? Beep bee boop beep. And most of them difficult or impossible to shut off, and usually requiring to be shut off again every time you restart the car.

    Just SHUT THE FUCK UP!

    Being in a car like that for 30 minutes is too much for me. I can’t imagine daily driving one.

    For my next car, I have four requirements:

    • No self-driving or driver assist tech of any kind. (Basic stuff like ABS and stability control are okay, as long as they don’t fucking beep at me.)

    • Air conditioning.

    • Manual transmission.

    • Capable of towing 10,000lb or more.

    That’s all I want, just those four things.
