When I post a YouTube link, no thumbnail is generated with the post.
I see this issue on Codeberg as #269. It was created in 2024, and closed the same year. But was anything ever changed relating to video thumbnails in Piefed?

Turns out the issue is with compact mode. Whether I’m on Blorp or just default Piefed, thumbnails don’t show up on compact mode.
But the good thing is that Remu has opened a Codeberg issue. So it’ll be fixed sometime in the future. :)

You seem to be trying to insert a youtube video as an image.
It’d be good if, when a youtube link is on it’s own (as below), it would turn into a clickable embedded video. But we don’t have that functionality at the moment. Some 3rd party client apps might.

We’ve had similar issue some time ago, it was due to something in ngnix. I’ll look around, maybe I have some notes about that somewhere
