U.S. News deals in events that have already happened, not speculation or opinion. Posts that don’t adhere to this expectation will be removed.

Political discussions on a post are absolutely fair game, just not the post itself.

It’s nothing personal; rather, that’s the expectation users have when visiting, and elections do not change that.

Please post to the Politics community instead.

  • Just curious, where’s the line? Any of these headlines acceptable as news?

“Polly Tishin proposes law that won’t pass”

“Corey Uptindividual found on Epstein list”

    “Epstein files released”

    “Polly Tishin wins reelection”

    “ICE targets LGBT community”

“Jersey Shore’s Mike “The Situation” Sorentino wins gubernatorial bid”

I mean, yeah. There’s a politics community. So it makes vastly more sense to post political news there. The communities are intentionally separate so that people can choose to subscribe to one or both and get what they expect in their feed.

If there weren’t a space for that, I could see where you’re coming from, but this is just mundane categorization.

          • OK. Did you consult with the other mods, admin, and yourself before making this post?

I might be misreading your tone, but there feels like a level of snark and matter of factness that is contradicting with many posts, that you yourself made, as well as other mods and admin.

I’m reiterating a rule that’s been standing for three years, since the creation of this community. You’ll note that most of my posts are not in U.S. News. At any rate, yes, the initial setup was approved higher than me, so “I don’t want to have to think about where I post” is a bad look. Just, like, post in politics if it’s political. Your photographic evidence of me posting events that already happened and calling me a hypocrite does less than you’d hope.

I’m just trying to keep things tidy. I’m not going to put a gardening post in the space community. There’s no need to put politics here.

I literally posted screenshots of the most recent posts in this community.

Excluding this post, 4/7 of your most recent posts to this community have been political. They’ve been news too, but they would appear in the politics section of any newspaper.

Your definition of news is broad, and inclusive of tabloids like TMZ (pre them somehow becoming the most reputable reporters in 2026).

Based on your rules this article and this one belong, but 4 of your 7 most recent posts do not.

There’s a reason I asked for clarification. Not sure why you’ve chosen to have the attitude you’ve chosen.
