Those benefit from the delusional attitude. If the people don’t get involved, this has no chance to change. Building opinions, sharing them and voting is just the minimum to expect from a democracy citizen. Democracy is a constant struggle, not a stable situation.
I still deal this particular cognitive dissonance when engaging with folks that think politician actions are political, but not your right to speak🙄. Silence is also a right, plead it.
If you’re not in an organization, you don’t do politics, you simply have some opinions.

I tend to find that most “non political” people are actually just not comfortable sharing their views right now. Especially if they sense it would cause a disagreement. It takes a lot of courage to say what you truly believe, especially if it goes against the flow.
