Meta bans political ads (when it suits them) and this is a political issue. I’d be okay with it if such rules were applied consistently but I bet that if there was an ad for a play that advocated mass deportation of brown people it would be allowed.
The article actually mentioned another article on the same site that Meta refused to take down a post (not an ad from which Meta gets directly paid! a post!) that advocated for violence against Muslims!
Which is to say that an ad for such a play would not only be allowed, but probably be hard to avoid on such platforms. 🙃
Another reason to be happy that my Facebook account got stolen forever ago.
