I’m currently listening to BTR (Bulgarian), Kino (Russian), Luke (French), the pillows (Japanese), Bjornarna (Swedish), Nova Koma (Latvian), Melt-Banana (Japanese), Republika (Polish), Ornatos Violeta (Portuguese), Starshooter (French), Chewie (Scottish), Jufkamental (Bosnian), Kult (Polish), Die Toten Hosen (German), Die Artze (German), and Ska-P (Spanish)!
In my opinion, it’s better to listen to all the best bands from everywhere rather than a mixed bag of American and British ones. Plus, they all have their own unique flavour on top of the traditional rock/punk styles, so it’s fun to listen to them!
What are some of your favourite rock/punk bands outside of the U.S. and England? I would also like to listen to some from outside Europe (I have a few Japanese ones, but that’s about it)
I love quite a few bands, but nothing can every quite replace the dead kennedys
Those ones are better if you understand French: vulgaires machins (from Québec), poésie zéro, vulves assassines
Otherwise: jetsex (still from France but lyrics are in English), ass of spades (Switzerland), Royal republic (Sweden), refused (Sweden too), beach moonsters (France)
PS: die Ärtze is probably my favorite band from Germany. The guitarist (Farin Urlaub) is also a solo artist and tours with his band: Farin Urlaub Racing Team.
Music is a universal language, almost none of the ones I listed perform in English. I’m just here for good beats! Will check out some of those you listed :D
I don’t listen to a lot of bands outside of US and UK, but I’m happy you provided some in your post! I’m going to check them out and keep an eye on what other people suggest in the comments ☺️
