Mine sees it as a challenge. She bolts in front of me if I’m going upstairs, only to stop on the last step before the landing and flopping on her side while her eyes are in full stalk mode.

If I pet the offered up belly, she’ll enjoy the scratching while all the more crazy eyed then finally bolt up most of the remaining stairs to look at me intently… ‘why are you not chasing me?’

My wife gets ‘bites’ from the same actions. In quotes because as soon as a single tooth touches her hand, it turns into licks.
