The marriage of Grok and Omarchy aligns two controversial tech leaders.

Of course it does. There is no reason to do this except to say “yay” to DHH being racist.

Is there a list of these asshole backers anywhere, so we all know who to boycott?

Omarchy is so funny. There’s nothing interesting there (it’s just Arch with some questionable configs). It doesn’t solve any existing problem that wasn’t solved before, because it’s still Arch.

And yet the technofascists can’t stop supporting it. It must be virtue-signaling.

Wowie, you’ve credited another Arch fork derivative with a shitload of usage credit for your fourth-grade AI model. Surely this will have an impact on technology.

Then again, it’s a match made in heaven. Nobody cares about Omarchy, and about the same number of people would care about Grok if they couldn’t get pornography out of it.

      There’s nothing interesting there

Yet people can’t stop talking about it, positive or negative. Something is interesting.

If you can’t argue your position without attacking a person’s character, you already lost the argument.

If I were running a tech project, and elon musk offered to help I’d quickly begin questioning all of my life choices.

This person assumes the best case for DHHs statements and excuses things by mentioning lack of information, but does not do the same for the person they are arguing against

This can of course be explained by them not realizing that, but that would mean that both the original post and this one are not thought out enough

This article does everything in its power to try to twist DHH’s words in some charitable manner while assigning (and subsequently defecating on) some arbitrary Rubyisms to an article that had nothing to do with Ruby.

Ironically, the article does exactly what it claims the others were doing by assuming those others were responding to his article based on uncharitable assumptions or poor faith.

The words a person chooses to write in a blog post are thought-out and explicit. He chose his wording to convey the meaning it did, knowing full well what the connotations of those sentences were. He reinforces those connotations with his later speech. And now he solidifies that message by accepting something of monetary value from Musk.

The far-right plausable deniability game isn’t going to work here. Evaluating speech solely on the semantic meaning of the words alone disregards the most valuable parts of communication. His message was clear, and it’s people like this who choose to ignore it (or who silently agree, though I don’t know this author so I have no clue which it is).

You would question your choices because you don’t want to be the kind of person Musk would support.

      This is everything DHH wants.

The funny thing is that DHH isnt even doing anything with that much money to make Omarchy better, seems like all money is going into his pocket

Of course they did. Omarchy is one of the only openly fascist-run Arch customizations.

And watch while they claim $1.5MM in revenue and $1.5MM in “marketing” to juice their books just a bit more.
