Oh yeah, I am deeply hopeful about the potential of social media but I hate discord with a passion that could fuel me to roll boulders up hills for eternity, that place is a buzzsaw for digital communities, it has destroyed so much vibrance on the open web it hurts even thinking about it.
Discord also shapes conversations heavy handedly in a way that I honestly find disturbing especially because everything is so opaque and subject to frequently being changed on a whim.

I would do it gladly, like I would literally do a livestream of myself repeatedly pushing an annoying boulder up a hill slowly and laboriously and when I finally get to the top turn to the camera, flick it off (that part is meant for discord) and then roll the boulder down the hill over and over again if it raised enough money to destroy discord, that is how pure my feelings are.
note I am not very strong either so this wouldn’t be physically impressive.
I don’t have experience with telegram or whatsapp groups but it isn’t like they are eating the open web in that different of a way…so discord isn’t entirely unique in inspiring me.
