But I love my wifeee and we are 20
In this example the vampire is not 20
Give it another 20 years. Hopefully your love flourishes.
Well… I’m together with “taste of my 20s” since 16 years. No regrets up to this point.
Can’t they, just split and find someone else? Not all myths say new vampire is bound to who turned them.
In the World of Darkness ttrpg is implied that Vampiric love lasts usually some centuries unless blood bonds and used and even sometimes then they can be broken.
There’s also the community angle. If you’re immortal, you’re going to want an immortal support network pretty desperately at times
Your progenitor isn’t just a partner, they’re a gateway to immortal society. How long would it take to make connections that would survive a breakup? It’d be one thing if there were vampire nightclubs going on, but that’s a pretty bad way to maintain secrecy
Some interesting power dynamics come into play
I mean… Why do you think they’re all brooding malcontents?
People have come down hard on me for this opinion but I never even take Astarion unless I’m doing an especially evil playthrough, which I’ve only done once. I cant stand him lol
I’d take him over Wyll, but really those two deserve each other
I’m still on my first playthrough and I’ve been pulling Astarion along the entire now-100-hour journey, ofc kinda sad because I’m incapable of cruellty.
I remember watching a vampire show once, and the dude was turned into a vampire later in life, while he was unhappy with his body. I would much rather get turned into a vampire in my 20s than much later in life.
In the game Oblivion and the movie Near Dark there are people who get turned to vampires as kids. They hate being stuck as kids, because they are old, and wise, but people still treat them like dumb kids.
Like the girl in interview with a vampire, yeah that would also suck ass.
At least in Oblivion, they should just get cured, wait, and then get bitten again by an old friend.
People think way too hard on FANTASY. It’s supposed to be unrealistic and enjoyable.
So we’re just plagiarizing Lestat for memes now, eh?
