Didn’t India make a law that says if some drugs are unaffordable to their people, Indian companies can legally make them for a lower price?
The case here is a bit different. If you read the article
a life-saving cancer drug supplied to hospitals at 2,700 rupees carried a vastly marked-up price of 27,000 rupees.
This case was about how hospitals were selling them at an exorbitant mark-up, that particular law doesn’t apply here, it only applies when manufacturer sells them at an unaffordable price and there are no affordable alternative.
In this particular case the SC has capped the mark-up to 30% for hospitals.
