Yeah. It’s white speak for “those coloured folks” when they want to sound sophisticated and not-racist…
Another one they use is “people of colour”. But never refer to their own as “people without colour”.

It’s basically veiled, polite, left-wing white supremacy in the anglosphere. But without the slurs and outward hostility.
It’s very refreshing to hear the two political rivals respecting each other.
Toronto has a tradition of this. Rob Ford respected. Layton famously on council. Chow and now Doug Ford do get along quite well (Ford didnt carry much water for Brad bradford which was handy). The only real bad blood was Ford and Tory iirc.

We won’t even mention Doug Ford calling a Star Reporter a bitch or Rob Ford’s comments to Olivia Gondek. This family turned city hall into a trailer park.
