Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe says the City of Ottawa will not be on the hook for any potential cost overruns for the new Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus after an Ontario cabinet minister said the province’s share of the cost has dramatically risen.

The future hospital near Dow’s Lake, where a large construction site now sits, was initially projected to cost $2.8 billion, with the province covering $2.1 billion of that projected cost. The local share would cover the roughly $700 million that remained.
