Inspired by this thread where at least five different libs made the same point and responded the same way when I tried to poke their bubble. Seriously CTRL+F my username or the word “voter” it’s downright surreal. The hivemindness of the affair was also pretty weird, but I’m not one to meme the same interaction twice.
Good things aren’t possible, you absolute buffoon! The real adults in the room realize that the best we can hope for is for things to slowly get worse.
From a quick glance at the thread, it seems like the problem wasn’t exactly “liberals” per se, but just pessimists of any stripe.
That’s pretty common in any casual social setting where people don’t know each other very deeply. It’s risky to tell strangers that you care about something and believe it’s possible for a better world to exist. They can easily shut you down as idealistic and score some “cool points” without risking much themselves.
If you want a great explainer on how policy actually gets passed, try reading The Carbon Wave by Leah Stokes. It was eye opening and caused me to shift my goals and strategy. Its a reported story about the people who fought tooth and nail for the Inflation Reduction Act to get passed as the biggest climate investment in human history at the time
I make it easy for them: I posted my DNI in my bio, and if they still ignorantly respond, I hand them a whoopin.
Even now, they monitor my comments just to spite downrank.
The Jenny comic one has them malding.Putting DNI in your bio (which I can’t even see from my client), commenting condescendingly on a discussion platform and then making dumb gotcha comments when somebody responds is not the flex you think it is
You misunderstand. He doesn’t make dumb gotcha comments, he hands them a whooping
Pronouns: ʃ/hr
What’s a DNI?
Do not interact. It’s basically “Don’t talk to me if you’re a _”
They have “Auθs,Libs,Xenos,grammarians,<7yoa” listed in theirs
People look at others bios before commenting? Or is that just a bluesky/Mastodon thing?
I think that serves as a black hole for the shit people used to put in their forum signature
Until Ocapnet is zeitgeist, it used to be netiquette. I apologize your mentors didn’t teach you to read road signs, and house signs.
So not really.
I don’t know what any of those things are
Something, Liberals, xenophobes, grammar nazis and people under 7 years old (mentally) is my guess 🤷🏻
Either way, I’m betting that all categories are very subjectively defined…
My best guess: Authoritarians, Liberals, Xenophobes, grammar nazis, Under 7 year olds?
- wait, what kind of shit client are you using that isn’t piefed complient?
- are you a liberal?
- what are you talking about?
Is this one of those whoopins you were talking about?
update: goferking got whooped by his own ignorance. now he’s requesting disengagement because he didn’t bother to read how disengaged Nutomic is about adding a simple social media features older than fediverse itself.
No?
But it seems some uninvolved parties have a ranking obsession.
- Jerboa, official Lemmy client from the Lemmy devs I think
- nay
- I think you’re being very smug about what I would call arguing in bad faith
Me thinks they simply a troll or has 0 idea how federation works
- Open an issue.
- then what are you referring to here?
commenting condescendingly on a discussion platform
- irt what exactly?
FWIW, The picture works fine on lemmy but the table that follows is missing.
Likely something with the formatting that either doesn’t federate out from piefed or gets rejected when getting to lemmy.Piefed isn’t known for following standards, dev prefers to make up their own
i don’t think lemmy even has ActivityPub standards for social details. Where do I add my gender and attraction markers?
Point where either of those are in the protocol standard?
https://www.w3.org/TR/activitypub/
And thank you for proving the point of piefed making up their own stuff and then blaming others for not following it
Do mean piefed’s implementation of
"gender": "fempres", "philia": "[redacted due to demagoguery]", "pronouns": "ʃ/hr", "dni": "Auθs,Libs,Xenos,grammarians,<7yoa",or something else lemmy hasn’t included?
People use Lemmy with clients and not just a browser?
webclients are clients dear. some call’m
frontendsbut it still interfaces with a server, hence “client.”
