Create the problem (scarcity in computer stuff we all need) suggest the solution is to rent it all from him…

That’s a nice profiteering racket you got going on there buddy!

How about we say you need to be in jail and not walk around free?

No no no… DRAM should go to personal computers, and data centers should be burned to the ground. People often get that mixed up.

MOST DCs should be burned to the ground. The one in the basement of your court building or hosting your health data, those can stay.

Person with RAM renting business says not renting RAM is bad.

Technically true from a pure utilization perspective, if everyone is using RAM for the same thing, but an OpenAI data centre having RAM doesn’t make my VRChat any faster.

He doesn’t want to make it faster, he just wants you to rent your pc usage from their datacenters

Sam Altman is so wise, we should stuff him into Jeff Bozo’s dick rocket and have him start the new civilization on mars for us. What an American hero!

In unrelated news: Creating a serious problem for which only you have the solution is called “racketeering”. Racketeers should be dealt with harshly and publicly.

This is all distraction from the binance hack which probably used AI. He had something really outrageous on retainer to say for such a scenario.

So it is quite terrible that we don’t all have to rent time on someone else’s computer, and use their software, and services. What an ass. What is terrible is that all the AI BS is driving up PC prices, energy prices, using up water, and polluting neighborhoods. Maybe you guys should be clean and efficient on one hand, and be paying for these things at marginal prices since your the new kid on the block. Instead your stealing from the rest of us.

I think we should form a ram collective and lease our extra ram to Sam I Am. We can call it Ram Bank™. We can fill tractor trailers with ram, they can be moved to data centers and when they don’t pay their monthly ram bill, we pull our ram from the data center. We can charge $100 per Gb per month to start.
