• Why the absolute fuck are unnecessary surgeries being done at all. Insane! On a 7 year old child! That would be horrific to endure at that age. (Shouldn’t be done unless necessary at any age in my opinion, but)

  • This is the fourth medical tribunal Mehat has faced.

In March 2019, he was suspended for one month when his fitness to practice was determined to be impaired, due to Nottingham City Council cautioning him for numerous offences in relation to rental properties he owned.

Then, in September 2019, he was suspended for one month because he circumcised a baby without his mother’s consent.

At the time, the MPTS decided there was a “very low risk of repetition” and “no risk to patients” by allowing him to continue working.

    Huh

A doctor circumcised a seven-year-old boy without seeking his opinion and without his father’s consent, a medical tribunal has heard.

Aren’t circumcisions already often done for religious reasons on infants that can’t consent? The only different bit here is that only one of the parents consented this time.

Given the child doesn’t normally get a say in this no matter what, why act like they care about the child’s opinion now?

Edit: Read the article properly, the boy’s mother is the one that forced this through, so she did consent - which I think actually makes the above more prudent.
