Unfunny PSA because this is my field: Posture gets over-focused on a lot of the time, but sitting for some amount of time in “bad” posture isn’t going to give you shrimp neck forever. Stiffness is the thing to combat, not posture. It may actually be worse to overfocus on tensing yourself into “good” posture. Instead, whenever you notice you’ve been sitting in the same way for a while, try to settle into the “opposite” position for a little while - activate some muscles that haven’t been working much, stretch out the ones that have.

A little strengthening of the shoulder stabilizers and deep neck flexors can go a long way too. For “tech neck” (forward head posture) I usually assign many of the exercises in this article. I also like wrapping an anchored resistance band around the back of the head and pulling the head back over the shoulders against the resistance, holding until fatigue.
