Chinese ‘white-hair’ protestors denounce medical insurance reform

In May 2021, the Chinese government announced a new insurance scheme to address the medical needs of the aging population, yet many elderly people believe the move will reduce the money flowing toward their personal insurance accounts to subsidize public medical expenses under the pretext of reform.
