What format do y’all enjoy playing the most? I love the deckbuilding freedom in Commander and I’m kinda addicted to optimizing my decks. Some week I put more cantrips in all of my decks, another time I’m thinking I need more graveyard hate and slot more Scavenger Grounds in my decks.

Mostly kitchentable. There is just not a big community where I live, so I only play occasionally with a friend. Recently is build 2 pauper decks and kinda like that format.

Lately I’m enjoying Explorer on Arena but a friendly round of Commander still wins.
Historic was awesome for a while but I’m a bit sad that Alchemy changed it so dramatically

Pioneer is my favourite but I don’t play it because I don’t have the money for a deck right now. Commander is fine but it doesn’t satisfy that 1v1 60 card competitive craving within me, while standard is dead and Modern and Legacy are just way too expensive for me to ever have any hope of playing them.

I know MTGO is clunky and takes getting used to, but I recommend you get it and look into Penny Dreadful. It’s a community run format with weekly tournaments and monthly leagues.
Only cards worth 2 cents and less on MTGO are legal, and they check prices and rotate the legal cards the week after every standard set releases.
The power level is not as weak as you’d expect, since cards banned in other formats have a tendency to drop in price significantly on MTGO. It’s honestly like playing a really inexpensive Legacy.

Mostly Commander these days, but overall kitchen table. Not a huge fan of rotating formats, and not a fan of having to put in a ton of money to get a competitive deck (I don’t mind spending extra for Commander since it’s just singles anyways). Kind of a psychological thing, I don’t mind dropping $30 on a single card, but $120 for a playset just feels bad.

In person I mostly play commander. I’ve also got a small collection of proxy modern decks that my partner and I play at home from time to time.
Digitally I play Explorer and Historic on Arena, and I’ve recently had a lot of fun playing Penny Dreadful on MTGO.

I play mostly pioneer. I also made a cube that has commander cards in it. (not sure if I call those eternal cards?)
