pitninja ( @pitninja@lemmy.ml ) 7•1 year agoI think it’s actually a Clementine fork, but I agree 100% that it’s fantastic. I would even speak highly of the Windows build. I was really happy to use a player that supports moodbar again.
comfy ( @comfy@lemmy.ml ) 3•1 year agoA few years back I had been recommended Clementine, and simply stayed with it. Recently realized Strawberry was the same idea but better and without all the annoying bugs. Can recommend!

I’m a fan of Audacious, myself. It’s an XMMS1 fork and inherits a ton of functionality from that venerable app—audio file formats, effects, skins, and so on.

noodlejetski ( @noodlejetski@beehaw.org ) 3•1 year agoVLC is so strongly hardcoded as a video player in my mind that it always baffles me when someone uses it for playing music. I mean, I know it can handle it, it just feels… wrong.
