I just wanted to thank you for your work on this app. iOS needs an app to access Lemmy. This is a great time for the app due to Apollo shutting down. I believe that your work on this app will greatly increase the number of people who join the fediverse.
Echolot ( @Echolot@sh.itjust.works ) English30•1 year agoAnd I especially appreciate that you chose the “harder” native app approach instead of going the simpler route of creating yet another webapp wrapper.
Technoguyfication ( @Technoguyfication@lemmy.ml ) English4•1 year agoYour battery life will appreciate it as well
Tavirez ( @Tavirez@beehaw.org ) English11•1 year agoI love the app itself and appreciate everything everyone is doing for it! I wish I knew how to code! Maybe it’s time to learn….
Why not? I do not work in tech, but knowing python and the Linux command line has helped me immeasurably with my work. And now with chatgpt it can do most of the word for me and I just tweak the code it gives me to fit my needs.
tookmyname ( @tookmyname@lemmy.ml ) English9•1 year agoWhere can we donate? Apologies if this answer is clear somewhere.
lFenix ( @lFenix@lemmy.ml ) English8•1 year agoFirst off, thank you very much for considering supporting me! ❤️
There are a couple options:
Br0da ( @br0da@lemmy.ml ) English5•1 year agojust donated. keep up the good work
lFenix ( @lFenix@lemmy.ml ) English5•1 year agoYou’re the best, thank you! I hope I will be able to fulfill your expectations :)
minorsecond ( @minorsecond@lemmy.ml ) English3•1 year agoI can’t do monthly as I got laid off, but I have a bit of money right now I can donate. Is there a way to give a single lump sum?
tookmyname ( @tookmyname@lemmy.ml ) English2•1 year agoIn the first link you can just do a tip of whatever amount. It’s this one:
I just did. Even has Apple pay etc which made it one click.
tookmyname ( @tookmyname@lemmy.ml ) English2•1 year agoDone. Cheers.
_pete_ ( @_pete_@lemmy.world ) English8•1 year agoAgreed, if I knew how to code anything in more than Python I would be offering to help you out!
The way I can best help out is by being active on the platform. Sadly my coding skills are basically just super small scrips to automate a task.
ywein ( @ywein@kbin.social ) 4•1 year agoReally like the app, can it be used with something like kbin.social?
lFenix ( @lFenix@lemmy.ml ) English7•1 year agoUnfortunately not, I tried it and kbin has some weird site-specific customizations, so Mlem can’t connect to it. I even had to put in some extra code just to make replying to kbin posts work
aroom ( @aroom@kbin.social ) 3•1 year agoThis is such a bummer. Could devs from kbin address this? It’s not great.
bit ( @bit@kbin.social ) 3•1 year agoThat’s a shame! Hopeful we’ll see something in the future. Regardless, thank you for the app
NoxiousPluK ( @NoxiousPluK@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) English4•1 year ago+1 from me; amazing app already and I can’t wait for it to mature.
f4ll3n_4ng3l ( @f4ll3n_4ng3l@lemmy.click ) English3•1 year agoThank you @worfamerryman@beehaw.org !
jennifilm ( @jennifilm@beehaw.org ) English3•1 year agoSeconded! The ux in mlem is great already, and it’s basically feature complete for my needs so far! Great work, team!
Do message replies work for you? I have to use the web app to see messages.
kratoz29 ( @kratoz29@lemmy.fmhy.ml ) English2•1 year agoI’m an Android user but I used Apollo for a significant amount of years, I hope Apollo (and Sync for Reddit plus many other Reddit clients for Android and iOS) can make a comeback… Wether it is for Reddit or this site.
I’ve used infinity for Reddit, but I prefer iOS so I really just used Apollo.
Apollo was a great app and it would be great to see the devs next project.
But, I am excited to see what the devs of mlem can do. So far things are off to a good start.
I typically use it for casual browsing, but due to some features that are still being implemented, I’m on the mobile browser for the most part.
RomanceDailies ( @RomanceDailies@beehaw.org ) English2•1 year agoThis app has been amazing already! So glad I stumbled upon it.
sparky@lemmy.pt ( @sparky@lemmy.pt ) English2•1 year ago+1, just installed the beta; though rough around the edges, I like the potential and the platform native feel, very Apollo-y, which is a huge compliment!!
