Wouldn’t exactly call this new science, but a good summary of the pollutants. They focus quite a bit on gaseous pollutants, but the particles are the primary concern. In the end, the only way this would be new is if the warmer climate causes more of these fires from here on out. Can that be solidly proven??

New Yorker here, and it was definitely unsettling to see the world turn orange at 1:00 PM. A lot of my students were freaking out, though since it’s the end of the school year I showed them Spirited Away and they soon forgot about it.
