Pretty sure this is a known lemmy bug being sorted out by the devs.

I noticed that the recent version of Jerboa actually no longer has the issue, but that may not help you out at the moment.

I think I’m running into a few bugs too. Nothing like putting a system under strain to discover all the kinks that aren’t quite worked out yet. I figure lots of things work fine until you put enough load on them.

Could try clearing browser cache and cookies. Browser may have not seen the saved change.

weirdly if I set it to Subscribed in setting, it respect that and always use that instead of local as default
